Bailey II's Story

MyVMC Story - Bailey II's Story a

I just want to say a huge thank you to Dr Stephen Garofol & his team for the amazing job they did saving our Bailey.  Bailey was bit by a dog and her wounds got infected.  We went to our local vet for 3 weeks and she was not getting better, and our vet thought the best course would be leg amputation.  I loaded Bailey up and took her to the U of M small animal hospital, which was the best decision ever.  Steve put her on an IV drip for several days to stabilize her.  He & his team then did a major skin graft, taking extra skin from her stomach, pulling it all the way down her leg to give her new skin to cover the huge holes on her groin and leg.  This not only saved her leg but very possibly her life.

Bailey is now running around our 23 acre hobby farm like a young puppy, you would never even know that a few short weeks ago her life was on the line.

Dr Steve is the most amazing vet. He called us to keep us updated and gave her the best care in the world.  She was not an easy patient as she was so scared she resorted to trying to bite everyone.  Now she is her sweet loving self and we are so thrilled to have our dear Bailey back to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we are so thankful for Steve and the great team at the U of M vet hospital.  If you ever need a referral you can count on us!
