Lucky's Story

MyVMC Story - Lucky's Story

We are writing to let you know how much we appreciate the care given to Lucky. My Dad was ready to put his cat down because he was told Lucky had paw cancer and my Dad was not open to amputation of the leg. We felt this measure was a bit too drastic. My Dad asked the surgeon to give me a call so that the vet could explain things to me since my Dad has a hard time with medical stuff. After I spent a good deal of time on the phone with the vet, it was clear that amputating a leg on a cat is not as inhumane as my Dad and I thought. The vet was so kind to entertain all our questions and spend the time we needed to gather information to make the best decision for Lucky. After the conversation with the vet, I called my Dad again and recommended we have Lucky's leg amputated to save his life. My Dad agreed and brought Lucky in the next day to talk more with the vet who was nice enough to show my Dad YouTube videos of cats with 3 legs since my Dad is not great with computers. The amount of time the vet took to help us process this information, really helped us make the right decision for Lucky and we never once felt pressured to make a decision one way or the other. We thank you so much for your great care.
