Surgery (Large Animal)
(equine, bovine, small ruminants, camelids, and others)

Critical care surgeries include colics, wounds, fractures and breakdown injuries.
Routine procedures include laser procedures, neonatal procedures, urogenital surgery, abdominal surgery, limb surgery, wound repair, tumor removals, upper respiratory/throat surgery, dental procedures, etc.
Minimally invasive surgeries, diagnostic and therapeutic, including laparoscopic, endoscopic and arthroscopic surgeries, and laser surgeries (CO2 and diode).
Performance evaluations and prepurchase evaluations, including lameness evaluations, upper respiratory evaluations, treadmill evaluations, endoscopy, nuclear scintigraphy (bone scans), ultrasound, thermography, muscle soreness exams, radiology and dental examinations.
Rehabilitation services, including acupuncture, massage, shockwave therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, pain management and integrative medicine.
Field consultations can be arranged for lameness evaluations or surgical procedures.
All surgeons are board certified or board eligible. We are supported by board certified radiologists and anesthesiologists as well as certified veterinary technicians. Ancillary services include ultrasound and small ruminant specialists as well as board certified specialists in internal medicine, theriogenology, neurology, ophthalmology, oncology, dentistry, dermatology, pathology and radiology.
Emergency surgeries will be scheduled immediately. Elective cases are typically scheduled to arrive on the day prior to surgery to allow evaluation for anesthesia and adequate food withdrawal. However, same-day surgeries are possible for routine procedures in healthy horses.
Referral appointments for in-depth evaluation of lameness or performance problems often require serial nerve blocks, radiographs and performance observations. A complete evaluation often requires 4-5 hours. Clients are welcome to stay and observe the entire evaluation. However, trailer parking is available if clients would like to make use of the local shopping malls or other entertainment.
Feel free to call ahead to ask about estimates or with questions on selected procedures.
