When hyperthyroidism and blood pressure problems caused Isabel cat to go blind, her care team at the VMC helped give her the gift of full sight. Without proper treatment, Isabel may have suffered from a lethal brain bleed or stroke within months. Isabel will turn 14 this year, but due to her successful treatments, she could live upwards of four to six more years.
Franny, an 11-year-old Shetland Sheepdog was experiencing severe deformity in both of her front legs from inflammatory arthritis. To provide her with the most comfort possible, Betty Kramek, DVM, MS, DACVS, amputated Franny’s front legs and fitted her with prosthetics. Now, Franny is on the move.
