Join in the spirit of giving with the Veterinary Medical Center’s Holiday blanket drive!  Drop off new or gently used blankets and large towels from December 16th to December 23rd.  

Your generosity will help keep thousands of patients cozy all year long.  

Please bring:

  • Lightweight comforters with synthetic fill and cotton exterior
  • Cotton blankets, single or double layer (sometimes called hotel blankets)
  • Fleece blankets, single or double layered
  • Towels, bath or beach sized 

Please avoid bringing:

  • Blankets with tassels, ties or lace
  • Knitted or crocheted blankets (can be dangerous for hospitalized pets) 
  • Blankets with adornments that could be chewed off and swallowed
  • Heavyweight comforters or quilts
  • Small towels or washcloths

Please drop off your blanket donations at the Veterinary Medical Center, 1365 Gortner Ave, St. Paul, MN 55108 between 6a-10p. Please place clean items in a trash bag and set by our front doors.  Avoid contact if you are feeling ill or have been in contact with a known or potentially Covid positive individual.  Thank you for your support!

Walking on sunshine

In 2016, Franny was rescued from a puppy mill, where she was kept in a small kennel her whole life. The 11-year-old Shetland Sheepdog was experiencing a severe deformity in both of her front legs from inflammatory arthritis. Leg wraps didn’t help, and bone eventually became exposed from the way Franny was having to awkwardly bear her weight.
