Access world class veterinary services in our referral-only satellite location in Apple Valley.  

The University of Minnesota Veterinary Referral Center (VRC) in Apple Valley, MN is a branch of the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center that provides specialty care for pets and companion animals from board-certified specialists in internal medicine and surgery. 

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Dr. Amanda Young is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology and specializes in diagnosis and treatment of skin and ear problems.

Emergency care

If you live in the South Metro area and your pet needs emergency care when your primary veterinarian is unavailable, University of Minnesota Veterinary Referral Center suggests you take your pet to:

  • South Metro Animal Emergency Care, located in the same hospital.
    Hours of operation: Monday-Friday, 6 p.m. - 8 a.m. Saturday/Sunday open 24 hours (closing at 8 a.m. Monday). Open 24 hours on Holidays. 

  • University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center in St. Paul.
    Hours of operation: Emergency open 24 hours, Urgent care open Monday-Friday, 3 p.m. - 10 p.m, Saturday & Sunday, 10 a.m - 2 p.m.
